A mixer preamplifier is basically used for 2 purposes:
mixer preamplifier that receives the signal from microphone and sound sources and sends it to one or more final power amplifiers.
mixer preamplifier as local programme, used for example in for a conference in a restaurant room; it sends the signal to an audio matrix (e.g. MTA561, MTA816) to distribute the sound in the various areas of interest.
