The unit DMP88C is a Digital Signal Processing-based audio matrix/auto mixer and processor equipped with DSP processors (Digital Signal Processing), 8 inputs and 8 indipendent outputs. Designed for professional audio systems: conference rooms, sports centers, worship places and theaters. Suitable for reverberant environment with high ambient noise. PC or color touch screen display to control and configuration.

Matrix and mixer

It is possible to assign any input signals combination to each of the 8 outputs, independently. It’s possible to manage the inputs in groups (sub-mixing) in order to apply processing modules to homogeneous inputs groups before sending them to the outputs.

Automixer

The automixer is equipped with a powerful algorithm, adaptive threshold based, able to manage with extreme accuracy the opening and the closing of the microphones which happens automatically, totally transparent to the user also in case of high background noise. The intelligent management implemented allows to obtain a volume gain up to 10 dB compared to a traditional mixer thus particularly indicated for reverberant environments with high ambient noise.

Parametric equalizers and filters on inputs and outputs.

Each input is equipped with parametric 5-band equalizer plus 2 additional second order low pass/high pass filters. The equalizers can be managed also in graphic modality and furthermore, through the control software, it is possible to work on the frequency response curve directly, for an easier and more intuitive regulation.

Anti larsen, AFC acoustic feedbacks suppressor.

A sophisticated digital filter is used to reduce the acoustic feedback between microphones and speakers to avoid the ‘’Larsen’’ effect. The gain margin obtained with this filter depends on the environment where it is used, typically between 5 and 9 dB for a medium-big ambient. The filter keep the vocal signal unvaried not introducing any harmonic distortion or limitation of the frequency response. This particular type of filter intervenes before the Larsen effect can be felt.

Delay lines

For each output a sound delay line is available which can be activated and set to 250 ms, with 10 microseconds resolution. This feature permits to “temporally align” some speakers placed at 90 mt from speakers of reference (or principal speakers). For bigger distances more outputs can be chained together to get overall delays over than 2 seconds.

Compressors

Signal compressors are available, they can be enabled and configured by specific parameters which are independent for each inputs. The compression level can be real time monitored for a better setting of its operating parameters

Connectivity and User Interface

Remote management and control of all system parameters via TCP/IP. The ‘’TSuite812’’ managing software included is available for PC-Windows devices. When connected to a network the mixer can be easily managed via wi-fi by a PC or a Tablet, both on calibration or usage phases. Using the devices it is possible to recall one from the sixteen user configurable presets. The mixer can be managed also using the LCD touch interface placed on its front panel. It is possible to activate, with password, a total or partial block of the interface on the front panel, to avoid accidental or non-authorized parameters variations on matrix/mixer.
